A Glimpse into Our African Annual Meeting

In the coastal city of Dar-es-Salaam near the equator in the distant continent of Africa, we, in a sunny mood,  welcomed the annual party that exclusively belonged to our Company.

We invited all local staff and the Chinese employees, totaling about one hundred people, to gather together. The venue of the annual meeting was a seaside resort hotel where there were beach, waves, coconut trees, grass houses, and blue tiles, and everyone was in a very good mood!

Each employee left his or her mark on the annual party signature board, as if it were a timeline, witnessing the Company's growth from a few to more than a hundred people.

The annual meeting was opened by a local colleague from HR department. Liao Kun, Deputy General manager of CNBMI Tanzania Company, told the Company's development history and expressed her gratitude for the hard work by the staff. Her touching words filled everyone with motivation and expectations for the new year.

Tug-of-war competition: The competition between the two teams was the best manifestation of team spirit. Everyone had made a great effort to win the collective victory and witnessed a long-standing famous saying - "Unity is power"!

Clipping Eggs: The special Chinese element of “Chopsticks” in the game was truly an exciting challenge for African employees. They quickly seized the essence of using chopsticks and won the game again and again.

Kangaroo Jump: In fact, that was not a simple game. It was difficult to jump long and fast with a sack and without falling over. Some employees stood up after falling over and continued with the game until the end. Some employees went to fast and fell over at the destination since they stopped all of a sudden. Everyone actively participated in the games and enjoyed themselves!

Between games, employees played beach volleyball and football to enjoy the leisure time.

The most exciting part of the annual party was of course the dance! African brothers and sisters are born dancers. Most of the African songs are fast and rhythmic. The singing was mostly impromptu raps. African employees started to dance when they heard the music. We spoke highly of the talents of the employees!

The annual meeting was successfully completed, and the signature board full of signatures made me very sentimental. The new year was about to begin, and we looked forward to more achievements in the year of 2018!
